Walk to School Day 2014!

October 8th is Walk to School Day. While we hope you walk to school everyday, Walk to School Day is a great way to celebrate a healthy option for the journey to school. 34 schools in Glendale are participating in this annual event to celebrate healthy active transportation and to promote pedestrian safety! Metro Sponsors “Glendale: The Jewel City Tour,” led by C.I.C.L.E. & Walk Bike Glendale

We’re partnering with Metro and C.I.C.L.E to bring you a great family friendly bike ride through Glendale. The date, time and route are now set so we hope to see you there!

As with all C.I.C.L.E. rides, this ride is family-friendly, leisurely paced and will return to the starting point after the event. C.I.C.L.E. rides are fully supported, led by trained Ride Leaders, an EMT, and volunteers. Prior to the ride we will address safe street riding and group ride etiquette to ensure smooth sailing. This ride is approximately 7 miles.

FREE WALK BIKE GLENDALE T-SHIRT: We need 4 new marshals to help us with the ride. Marshals will need to do the pre-ride this Saturday 9/20/14 and help on the day of the event. Marshals will receive a free T-shirt for their efforts and learn the skills to help volunteer on future rides. Please contact Steven Nancarrow at srnancarrow@gmail.com to RSVP or for more details.

When: Saturday, September 27, 2014
Time: Meet at 9:30 a.m., the ride will leave promptly at 10 a.m. The ride will return to the start by 12:30 p.m.
